As Adweek celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, we’ve been reflecting on how dramatically the media landscape has transformed—especially in the past few years. Even our iconic Hot List, which will be published in print and online on Oct. 21, is changing.

Like in past years, the Hot List will continue to honor the best in digital media and TV, along with spotlighting a Media Visionary and leading creators and executives.

But for 2019, we’re bringing a fresh approach to the publishing category that acknowledges the significant ways that industry has evolved.

The Hot List will honor the best in publishing overall, putting print brands head-to-head with digital publishers. A team of Adweek editors will scrutinize performance as well as impact across categories for both digital natives and the digital arms of magazines and newspapers brands. We’ll take into consideration each brand’s efforts to diversify revenue streams (events and ecommerce, as well as their print products). Some categories will remain exclusively for print, but unless otherwise noted, digital publishers and print publishers will compete in the remaining categories.

While submissions are not required for consideration, we welcome your suggestions. Please send us no more than 500 words on why your brand is hot no later than Sept. 3. A Word doc can be emailed to the following editors:

Publishing: [email protected]

TV: [email protected]

Digital: [email protected]
